A compound combining the amino acid glycine, the fatty-acid derivative carnitine, and propionate. It is a manufactured variant of carnitine designed to be more readily absorbed than plain L-carnitine.
Why it’s used
Taken by some to support exercise performance and blood flow during physical activity.
What the evidence says
A small number of published studies, largely from one or two research groups, report effects on blood flow markers and exercise performance, but the body of evidence is thin, not independently replicated at scale, and not part of a larger established literature the way plain carnitine's metabolic role is.
