Why it’s used

Taken by some for general wellness, skin appearance, or as a source of nutrients, though the specific claims vary widely by brand.

What the evidence says

There is no NIH Office of Dietary Supplements fact sheet on royal jelly, and human clinical research is sparse and mostly small or preliminary. No consistent effect has been established for any of the claims made about it.
