What the evidence says
The FDA has stated that colloidal silver products are not recognized as safe or effective for any of the health claims made for them, and taking silver by mouth over time can cause argyria, a permanent bluish-gray discoloration of the skin. There is no credible body of evidence supporting an internal health benefit from oral silver supplementation.
Context
No studied dosing protocol exists to describe, because oral silver supplementation is not supported by clinical research as beneficial.
